Everyone loves Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", and if you've never sung it at karaoke, you simply haven't lived.

Well, you won't be singing it in public any time in the near future, and neither will Diamond, but the veteran singer-songwriter did take to Twitter this past weekend to share a version of his 1969 hit with a few slightly altered lines.

“I know we’re going through a rough time right now," Diamond says before launching into the tune, "but I love you, and I think maybe if we sing together we might feel a little bit better.”

Then he sings "Sweet Caroline" with new lyrics tailored for the COVID-19 age: “Hands, washing hands, reaching out, don’t touch me, I won’t touch you.”
