Dutil has clad countless Vancouverites in denim, but the Gastown clothier is now hoping to fit your ears with new tunes.

Next week, the store issues the vinyl-only Serotonin: To Long For–You Sessions Volume 1, a nine-song set including local acts Omar Khan, ACTORS, and Drawn Ship, as well as out-of-towners like Toronto’s Partizans.

Store founder Eric Dickstein’s goal is to get people back to poring over a record layout and learning about the music. “People eat a hamburger and they forget that it was an actual animal at some point. People are consuming music in the same way,” Dickstein told the Straight, adding that more volumes will follow.

There’s an in-store release on Thursday (July 11) that’ll feature performances by Chin Injeti, Omar Khan, and Sophia Danai. You can email dutil to grab a seat.
