My Favourite Thing is a video feature where the Georgia Straight gets interesting folks from around town to list off, among other things, their favourite performers, rituals, live gigs, and singers. And, of course, their favourite thing.

Singer-songwriter Daniel Wesley caught up with the Straight last month at his favourite spot in the city to tell us what he likes to listen to, which vocalists he admires, and where he likes to run.

Wesley recently released his seventh studio album, I Am Your Man, on his label, Beach Grove Records. After working with other producers on every album following 2007's Driftin', his latest offering has him going it alone with laidback, beach-ready tunes. The album features 10 new tracks, which Wesley says "really encompass a summer vibe".

"They're a little different than where I've gone before and I think people will really dig it. My son Finn is on the cover, too; it's pretty cute," he said during an interview in Stanley Park.
