My Favourite Thing is a video feature where the Georgia Straight gets interesting folks to list off, among other things, their favourite performers, live gigs, and singers. And, of course, their favourite thing.

Some might remember him as a member of In Essence, but Dru has been delighting the ears of many as a solo artist with his soulful R&B since the release of his debut album, The One, in 2008. We caught up with Dru last week when he visited Vancouver to film the video for his latest single, "Don't Be Afraid", at Heather Civic Marina.

The Juno Award and MuchMusic Video Award winner's latest record, Déjà Vu, was released in April 2015, and earned him a nomination for R&B/Soul recording of the year at the 2016 Junos. Having toured with artists like Sean Paul, Ludacris, Usher, and LMFAO, he's no stranger to the tour circuit and has plans for an upcoming Canadian headlining tour. For now, stay tuned for his next video, which should be released in mid-July.
