Who would have thought? D.O.A.'s Joey "Shithead" Keithley is getting a star on Granville Street—"the first of the punk/ alternative generation to be inducted," he notes on Facebook.

Today (November 17) at 5 p.m., the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame will officially unveil the star-though sadly, as you see from the sneak-preview photo above, they have eschewed using Joe's punk name for the monument.

The ceremony, open to the public, will feature a "few short speeches," with Joe and friends on hand, and a casual get together following at the nearby Bottleneck Pub (870 Granville).

Keithley promises "appetizers and lots of D.O.A. music" served up 5 to 7 p.m.

Keithley was also recently tapped for the Green Party as legislative nominee for Burnaby-Lougheed, and will be running for office in May, "because we need honesty and compassion in government."
