Videos: Gay Nineties rocks out at #StraightUnplugged with singles and a Canadian cover
The band graced the cover of the Georgia Straight just a few weeks ago, and on Friday (February 17), Gay Nineties played a (mostly) acoustic set for lucky contest winners as part of our monthly #StraightUnplugged concert series.
With different artists planned for every month, the series celebrates both the Straight's 50th anniversary, as well as local band and musicians who have been featured in a Straight cover story.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Parker Bossley was joined by back-up vocalist and bassist Daniel Knowlton, who played acoustic guitar for the show.
Just like last month's show, readers were treated to bottles of Steamwhistle and delicious eats courtesy our friends at Urban Fare, while Bossley and Knowlton played unplugged versions of their favourite singles, and a cover of a well-known song.
If you missed our live Facebook video, watch these stripped down versions of five Gay Nineties hits, and a cover of the Sam Roberts Band's 2006 track, "Bridge to Nowhere". Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with Bossley, online tomorrow (February 21).
