As every sensible British Columbian knows, the best way to spend the stat known as Family Day is to escape one’s family. On that front, Blueprint Events has announced Eric Prydz as the headliner for its FOUNDATION 1-Year Anniversary event next February 17 at the Pacific Coliseum.
Thank you, God.
After exploding onto the electronic music landscape in 2004 with “Call on Me”, Prydz has established himself as a constantly evolving house mainstay on the international touring circuit. The 47-year-old Swedish producer once told English broadcaster Zane Lowe that his main goal as an artist is to create songs he wished he was hearing from others.
“I make the music that’s missing from my record box,” he said.
Live, Prydz is famous for his high-octane shows, plus stage setups including what’s been billed as the largest hologram in North America. Think: a massive luminescent box that projects shapeshifting geometric landscapes, fireball meteorites, and raging thunderstorms—all of which sound about a million times more appealing than Family Day with the wacky people that you still can’t believe you’re related to.
