Fiona Black will host the 10th episode of the Backstage at CapU series this Wednesday (October 14).

Black, the longtime director and programmer of Capilano University’s BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts, will be speaking with Vancouver guitarist and oud player Gord Grdina, whose music fuses jazz, improv, and Arabic influences. The free event will be streamed live on Facebook at 7:30 pm.

Grdina--whose musical endeavours include Haram, the Nomad Trio, Square Peg, the Marrow, Peregrine Falls, and the Gordon Grdina Quartet--will discuss some of his musical adventures before giving an improvisation performance on the oud.
