FVDED in the Park 2023 cancelled in a decision that was not made lightly

Known as one of the true marquee events of the Greater Vancouver concert season, FVDED in the Park has announced that it is cancelling its 2023 festival. Those who have purchased tickets for the two-day event, originally scheduled for June 23 and 24 in Surrey's Holland Park, will have their refunds automatically processed.

In announcing the cancellation, organizers Blueprint Productions cited "difficulties" which made the decision what it's called a hard, but necessary, one.

First taking place in 2015, FVDED quickly established itself as must-attend showcase by focusing on a mix of established and up-and-coming EDM and rap and hip-hop acts.

This year's edition was to feature headliners Jack Harlow and Odesza, and an undercard including Ski Mask the Slump God, Golden Features, Deathpact, Ferg, Ivy Lab, HoneyLuv, DJ Snake, and more.

FVDED isn't the only major music event to cancel this year. Citing rising production costs, the Vancouver Folk Music Festival announced in January that it was cancelling 2023, and the Squamish Constellation Festival has issued a statement that it will be difficult to proceed in 2023 unless a financial backer is found.

Here is the entire FVDED announcement.
