American punk icons the Offspring and much-loved hometown heroes Mother Mother and Marianas Trench have been announced as headliners of the new and ambitious Ambleside Music Festival.

The three-day inagural event, put on by Vancouver’s GSL Group, is scheduled for August 12-14 at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver.

Acts making for a strong undercard range from Victoria indie-kings Jon and Roy and Alabama neo-soul greats St. Paul & the Broken Bones to alt-rock vets the Darcys and Tokyo Police Club. And the deep pool of talent doesn’t stop there. Former Straight cover-stars Walk Off the EarthHannah Georgas, and the Harpoonist & the Axe Murderer will be joined by Vancouver pop experimentalists Little Destroyer and L.A.-based R&B revisionist Tim Atlas.

Also appearing at Ambleside Music Festival, which will feature two stages in one of the Lower Mainland’s most spectacular settings, will be Ria Mae, Scott Helman, Valley, the Blue Stones, Virginia to Vegas, and more. For the full lineup and more information, go here.

“We are overjoyed to be able to bring a festival to Ambleside Park this summer,” GSL president and CEO Graham S. Lee said in a release. “We believe that the Ambleside Music Festival will offer something for everyone and will become an important mainstay of the community for years to come. Our vision is to make West Vancouver and the Ambleside Music Festival a key destination and calendar highlight for music on Canada’s West Coast.”

General admission weekend adult passes ($245 per person), children’s passes ($122.50 per child ages 6-12) are now on sale at amblesidefestival.com.

Limited VIP Weekend Packages ($525 per person) meanwhile will give guests access to a private entrance, private bar, elevated viewing area, light snacks, and dedicated washrooms.

Food and beverage vendors will of course also be on site.

Ambleside Music Festival has teamed up with the non-profit organization One Tree Planted, with a tree planted in B.C. for every ticket sold. Consider that meaningful step considering the forest fire damage that’s wreaked havoc across the province in the past couple of years.
