More than 25 jazz groups and soloists will converge on Burnaby's Shadbolt Centre for Jazz @ the Bolt.

The weekend event, taking place from February 11 to 13, will feature artists from Vancouver as well as headliners from the mecca of the contemporary jazz scene in North America, New York City.

The opening night concert on Friday will feature NYC Hammond B3 maestro Mike LeDonne and the Groover Quartet, plus a Big Band comprised of Vancouver jazz all-stars.

Saturday will feature eleven bands, including the Alexander Claffy Quintet, the Michael Stephenson Quintet, tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander and his Quartet, and pianist Anthony Wonsey and his Trio. Also, Vancouver’s Cory Weeds will team up with the Groover Quartet to perform songs from their newly-released jazz homage to Italy, O Sole Mio! Music from the Motherland.

Sunday will see performances by Canadian acts, including KITT, Steve Maddock, Amanda Tosoff, the Tilden Webb Trio with Jocelyn Gould, Cory Weeds and Ryan Oliver with Strings featuring Phil Dwyer, and the Ostara Project.
