Lionel Richie headed for Vancouver in September for Sing a Song All Night Long Tour
It’s literally one of the planet’s greatest mysteries: what is Lionel Richie’s seemingly supernatural secret? To look at the former Commodore, ‘80s superstar, current American Idol judge, and enduring icon is to marvel at the fact that he seems almost totally immune to aging.
His driver’s license might read 73, but seriously Richie doesn’t look radically different than he did in the video for “We Are the World”. Or (once you get past the Gene Simmons-meets-Golem haircut), the official 1979 video for the Commodores’ “Sail On”.
Vancouverites will get the chance to see the ageless Richie this September 12, when he headlines Rogers Arena . Tickets for the show, produced by Live Nation go on sale on March 13 at 10 a.m. Opening the show, dubbed Sing a Song All Night Long, will be Earth, Wind & Fire.
Expect all the hits that have helped the singer, songwriter, and producer sell 125 million records over the course of his career: “All Night Long”, “Three Times a Lady”, “Easy”, “Say You, Say Me”, and, really, too many others to list here.
Another reason to get excited: the prospect of the merch tables selling not only T-shirts, hoodies, and posters, but also Lionel Richie Anti-Aging Cream.
