Live Nation has announced the official postponement of all North American shows for Madonna’s Celebration Tour. The 41-date swing had been scheduled to kick off July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

The 64-year-old icon was admitted to the intensive care unit in late June with what was described as a serious bacterial infection. Since then fans have been confused as to whether shows would be going ahead or not, many taking to social media to complain that they’d not only bought tickets but reserved flights and hotel rooms.

Madonna erased all doubts this morning on Instgram with a post that read, in part, “My focus is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can! The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe.”

Live Nation has stated that rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible, with ans encouraged to hold onto their tickets, which will be valid for the new dates when announced.
