In 2020, Michael Bublé did something that deeply impressed many people in B.C.'s Filipino community.

The Burnaby-raised crooner gave his deceased grandfather's house to his former caregiver, a woman named Minette, who hailed from the Philippines. Not only that, but Bublé brought in the celebrity twins on the Property Brothers to renovate the property. According to Bublé, all of this occurred because Minette had became part of the family.

Now, Bublé is once again showing his love for folks who trace their roots back to the Philippines.

This time, he's agreed to be a judge on Sing for the Stars, which is an international competition to find talented Filipino and foreign singers.

The other judge on Sing for the Stars is legendary musical-theatre performer Lea Salonga, who has 5.5 million followers on her Twitter feed.

It will be livestreamed on Kumu, which is a social-media platform based in Mandaluyong Vity in Metro Manila.

“Kumu is the home of musicians,” founder and CEO Roland Ros said in a news release. “Through this competition, we're discovering and highlighting new voices on a world stage in a unique and brand new way. Sing for the Stars is the most inclusive talent show ever because talents can audition, perform, and win no matter who or where in the world they are.”

Warner Music Philippines and the Kumu music team will choose 15 contestants on the show.

The top 11 will go to the finals, with the grand champion taking home $10,000 in cash and a one-year record deal with Music.

Not only that, but the champ will also receive a one-on-one coaching lesson from none other than...Michael Bublé.
