The Offspring and its road crew survived a scary incident in Quebec on Friday, with one the California punk band’s SUV’s catching fire on the road while travelling to a show in Rimouski.

According to social media posts by the multi-platinum-selling group—which is headed to Vancouver for the Ambleside Music Festival—the trouble caused no shortage of damage, but none of it was to human life.

Taking to Twitter, the Offspring wrote: “While traveling through Canada yesterday, something flew off the vehicle in front of us and became wedged underneath one of our SUVs and it caught fire. Everyone got out safely, but the luggage, passports, laptops and pretty much everything else was destroyed.”

For those who like pictures more than words, here’s footage of the burning SUV.

Offspring guitarist Noodles used Instagram to note that it was the members of the band’s support crew who were hit hardest by the accident. Noting that it’s the folks around them who tend to do most of the heavy lifting on a tour—are are therefore invaluable—Noodles wrote:

“No one was hurt. Everyone got out of the vehicle unscathed. Unfortunately about half our crew lost all their belongings in the fire, including luggage, computers, & passports. But it could’ve been much worse. The band & I are so thankful & relieved that all involved are OK. No one is sure what started the fire yet, but the SUV hit something big & heavy, possibly a lost trailer hitch, and within seconds the vehicle was in flames. You can see from the video that they didn’t even get off the Highway before everyone had to bail. No time to save any belongings. Scary shit!”

Having survived Quebec, the Offspring now head to Vancouver for the last show of its Canadian tour. After that, the iconic punk vets head overseas for dates in Japan, Europe, and Australia.

Ambleside Music Festival runs August 12-14 at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, with acts appearing including Mother Mother, Marianas Trench, Walk Off the Earth, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and Charlotte Cardin. The Offspring headlines the day on August 13. For full festival information, go here.
