Grammy and Juno Award-winning artist Chin Injeti’s new single, “Expensive” celebrates the decadence of love through a groovy alternative R&B hook and a captivating beat.

The Vancouver-based multi-instrumentalist is known for his eclectic taste, and this song is no different. It combines ‘80s synth pop with more modern tones, creating a feel-good energy that builds throughout the tune. “Expensive” also features Jarrel the Young, a Toronto-based songwriter.

“The main inspirations were David Bowie, Ultravox and Grace Jones,” Injeti said in a press release. "The visuals and song were created in my studio using real hardware and analog tape and drum machines to recreate the same feeling of a record from 1984."

Injeti was a founding member of the Juno-winning trio Bass is Base, and a frequent collaborator with Producer DJ Khalil—writing and producing songs for names like Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Drake and Eminem.

“Expensive” is one of many new singles by the singer, musician and producer. “Yuh,” “For The Love of Life,” and “Sparrow” were recently released, as Injeti re-ignites his music career—starting to release music under his own name again.
