Paul McCartney releases solo studio album, McCartney III, after leaking parts of it on the Tonight Show
The timeless Beatle is back with a new disc 40 years after the death of his major songwriting partner, John Lennon, and 50 years after his first solo album.
Today, Paul McCartney released McCartney III, which is a collection of live takes of him singing and playing the guitar and piano.
It's overdubbed with his own bass playing and drumming, according to Abbey Road Studios. It was recorded while he was in lockdown.
McCartney turned 78 last June.
Last night, he unveiled parts of the album on the Tonight Show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon.
Described as a "playful gem" by Rolling Stone, it includes the following songs:
