In what should surprise no one, Rage Against the Machine has become one of the first heavyweight acts in America to come out swinging against a leaked Supreme Court’s draft opinion on overturning Roe vs. Wade.

If the right-leaning Supreme Court overturns the landmark 1973 ruling, the decision will end the rights of Americans to abortion on a federal level.

Taking to Instagram and posting in ALL CAPS, the band’s statement starts with “RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE STANDS IN SUPPORT OF REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE AND WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT AGAINST ANY ATTEMPTS TO RESTRICT OF CONTROL REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM."

You can read the whole statement below. And after you've done that, cue up "Killing in the Name", making sure to sing along extra loud to the "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" part.

Rage Against the Machine formed in 1991, and then went on to establish itself as one of the most the most fiercely political and inspirationally progressive bands to ever go multi-platinum sales. The group disbanded in 2000 over creative differences, reforming in 2007.

After sporadic live performances the group announced a reunion tour in 2019 that ended up being derailed by the COVID-19. Rage Against the Machine is scheduled to play Vancouver on March 11, 2023.
