RAYE, the self-styled "Oh-So Fabulous Gal from South London" brought her This Tour May Contain: New Music tour to Vancouver. With a name that riffed on her new sophomore album, This Music May Contain Hope, the show did not disappoint.
On the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sport Centre Stage, RAYE delivered an electrifying performance with unmatched energy. She kicked off the night with her viral hit "WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!" which immediately set a soulful tone that carried throughout the entire show. Supported by a full band including brass and strings, her rich, harmonizing vocals soared over the instruments to create a truly vibrant sound.
After achieving a historic six wins at the 2024 BRIT Awards, Raye has solidified her genre-blending sound that effortlessly combines R&B, jazz, and soul. With a 20-song setlist that included a cover of Kaye Ballard's "Fly Me to the Moon", as well as a version of her 2016 feature on Jaz Jones' "You Don't Know Me', the singer and songwriter proved she's always been a star. It just took the world a while to catch up.
