In a year where many festivals in British Columbia have struggled to survive, Victoria’s Rifflandia Festival is taking a huge step forward by expanding to two weekends.

This year’s edition of the event will run September 7 to 9 and September 15 to 17 in the provincial capital. In addition to headliners Iggy Pop, Chris Lake, Run the Jewels, and Diplo, acts scheduled to appear include jazz icon Herbie Hancock, hip-hop pioneers Salt-N-Pepa, and soul queen Mavis Staples. Also performing will be Chromeo, Stephen Marley, Marc Rebillet, Keleo, Paul Okenfold, and—doing whatever it is that she does—Paris Hilton.

The action will be centered around two areas in Victoria: The Park with two main stages, and the 19+ Electric Avenue with multiple stages including the Dome.

Established in 2008, Rifflandia has grown into one of the province’s most important and long-running music festivals with crowds topping 60,000 attendees.

Tickets, which range from VIP passes to Park and Electric Avenue passes go on sale this Thursday (May 18) at 10am PST. For full details go here
