Has it really been 50 years since David Bowie released Ziggy Stardust, the amazing glam-rock album that some folks still refer to by its full name: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars?

Well, it hasn't been half a century yet, but in a couple weeks--on June 16, to be exact--it will be, and the Rio Theatre is throwing a party to celebrate the milestone.

Described as "a listening party of sorts", the event will feature a live band playing the album front to back--from "Five Years" to "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide"--with local singers Cass King, Cobra Ramone, Tamla Mah, Cam Alexander, and Bloody Betty Bathory sharing the vocals.

The show will also feature performances by burlesque and drag artists Rebel Valentine, Arabella Boop, JJ Jiggles, Ginger Femmecat & Draco Boyesque, Vixen Von Flex, Rich Elle, and Victoria's Eddi Licious.

General admission tickets are $30 advance, $35 at the door, and you can find them here.
