Sometimes, it's called "The Chanukah Song"...and on other occasions, it's known as the "The Hanukkah Song".

When comedian Adam Sandler debuted it on Saturday Night Live in 1994, it became an international sensation.

Jewish kids around the world felt a little less alienated over the holiday season after hearing about their shared religious heritage with so many famous people mentioned in the lyrics.

Since then, Sandler has pleaded for someone else to write another song celebrating the eight-day Jewish holiday, which runs from November 28 to December 6 in 2021.

And this month, Vancouver singer-songwriter Haley K Turner answered the call with "Intangible Things (A Hanukkah Song)".

It was recorded at Monarch Studios with producer and musician Tom Dobrzanski, who's familiar to Straight readers for his long association with the Zolas.

Now, Turner is hoping to let Sandler know about the song. To that end, she's created a "Happy Gilmore Parody Video".

"It may take a miracle to get Sandler’s attention," noted her Canadian publicist, Eric Alper, "but if Hanukkah has shown us anything, it’s that miracles do happen."
