      The Hives

The Swedish indie rockers have mapped out a North American tour for the fall. Their sixth studio album, The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, is due on August 11 and takes on a horror theme. It’s the first effort in nearly a decade from the quintet, who rose to prominence in what's now dubbed the "indie sleaze" era of the early aughts. In a press release, the group shared this of the story behind the new music: “There was a problem… the increasingly long absence of The Hives’ founder, mentor and songwriter, the limelight-shunning Randy Fitzsimmons. Now, returning for their final act since his mysterious disappearance, the band have delivered a record that is not just worthy of their legacy, but one that adds fresh lustre to The Hives.”

      When: November 9

      Where: Rickshaw Theatre

Tickets: On sale Friday, May 19 via Ticketmaster

His band, the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, just released its third album, Plays Well With Others, on the iconic Decca Records, and has announced a summer West Coast tour in support.
