Last March when the Weeknd released his fourth studio album, After Hours, it amounted to a major artistic reinvention from the blockbuster Starboy disc.

Two of the singles, "Heartless" and "Blinding Lights" went platinum, topping the Billboard Hot 100, as the album attracted critical acclaim around the world.

By December 1, "Blinding Lights" was also the most downloaded song on Spotify in all of 2020.

So yesterday, the Weeknd did something to keep the focus on his music during the peak Christmas shopping season.

The Toronto-born musician also known as Abel Makkonen Tesfaye accomplished this by dropping a sensuous remix of "Blinding Lights".

It features a collaboration with Spanish singer Rosalia.

And it's likely only going to further the Weeknd's appeal to the 580 million people in the world who speak Spanish, thanks to Rosalia's opening.
