Omarosa allegedly resigns from White House, but TMZ cites sources saying she was fired

It's time for a break from all those grim stories we've been hearing recently about the Site C dam, nuclear-weapons tests by North Korea, and the awful civil war in Yemen.

And the latest news from the White House provides the perfect opportunity.

Omarosa Manigault-Newman is out, but the circumstances of the former Apprentice star's departure remain in dispute.

TMZ has cited sources saying the former TV reality-show villain was fired by Gen. John Kelly, the White House chief of staff.

But "sources close to Omarosa" say she quit because of fundamental disagreements over Trump's handing of the Charlottesville abomination, his controverisal call to an African-American Gold Star widow, and other issues.

When Omarosa was working with the Trump campaign as the director of African-American Outreach, she told a PBS Frontline journalist that "every critic, every detractor will have to bow down to President Trump".

But if she becomes a critic or detractor, will she do the same? Not likely.

CNN political analyst April D. Ryan has joined the chorus of those maintaining that Omarosa was fired.

Ryan's Twitter account included a little dig about Omarosa being a minister—that's because she was allegedly ordained in West Africa.
