Stephen Harper's wife questions Steve Ecklund's penis size after The Edge host shoots cougar

The B.C. government has recently banned the grisly hunting of grizzly bears.

But next door in Alberta, it's still legal to shoot cougars.

And one high-profile hunter's cheery tale about killing one of these mountain lions has not gone over well on social media.

Steve Ecklund, host of The Edge, bagged a big cat earlier this month.

"What an unreal ending to a fun filled season," he declared on his Facebook page.

Famous cat lover Laureen Harper, wife of former prime minister Stephen Harper, joined in the chorus of criticism.

"What a creep," she wrote. "Chasing cougars with dogs until they are exhausted then shooting a scared, cornered and tired animal. Must be compensating for something, small penis probably."
