B.C. Hydro says 100,000 customers were affected by power outages in eastern Fraser Valley

      B.C. Hydro crews are dealing with monumental problems in Abbotsford and other parts of the eastern Fraser Valley following freezing rain and snow storms.

      According to the Crown utility's website, about 100,000 customers were affected.

      As of this writing, there are 37,052 customers in the Lower Mainland and Sunshine Coast without power.

      Anyone who sees a downed power line is advised to remain at least 10 metres away and to dial 9-1-1.
