While some folks in the eastern Fraser Valley have endured a third straight night without power, Vancouver residents 9who aren't homeless) have had it pretty easy over the past few days.
Even as temperatures dipped, the roads were clear and there was no black ice, making for easy walking, cycling, transit riding, and driving.
Another sign of tranquility: the Vancouver Police Department has only posted one news release on its website since Christmas Eve. That was a simply update on some thefts from motor vehicles before Christmas, which led to more than two dozen arrests.
This morning, the big weather story in Vancouver is fog.
Not freezing rain. Not huge snow banks. Not a shortage of road salt. Just fog.
Happy New Year's Eve. Let's hope it stays this peaceful until tomorrow's Polar Bear Swim at English Bay.
