Poet Carl Sandburg once wrote: "The fog comes on little cat feet. It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on."

But in Vancouver, the fog has been slow to depart this week.

This morning, Environment Canada issued another fog advisory for the Lower Mainland, which means it's here to stay until mid morning at the very least.

It's being caused by a "strong temperature inversion", according to the weather experts.

"Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring over some areas," they say.

There's also an advisory for freezing rain on the Sea to Sky Highway, making for a double whammy for anyone planning to drive to Squamish or Whistler.

The fog in southwestern B.C. has already been generating a lot of discussion over social media.
