NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh gets engaged to fashion designer Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu

      Canadians are getting used to seeing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer tootling around with their wives and kids.

      Trudeau has three children and Scheer has five.

      But now, the leader of Canada's third party, the NDP's Jagmeet Singh, is not going to remain the only bachelor among the lot.

      He's tweeted that he's just become engaged to his 27-year-old fiancée, fashion designer Gurkiran Kaur.

      The proposal came during a private party near the Ontario legislature.

      This news is generating plenty of chatter over Twitter tonight.
