Cyclist hit by vehicle on same Burnaby street where girl was killed by car
A cyclist has been struck by a vehicle in the 7200 block of Cariboo Road in Burnaby.
According to Burnaby RCMP, this is the same location where a 15-year-old girl was killed by a car the previous day.
RCMP officers responded to a report that a cyclist was hit by a vehicle at around 9:10 a.m. Thursday (January 18).
The unnamed cyclist was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“This is the fifth collision involving a pedestrian or cyclist that Burnaby RCMP Traffic Services has responded to in the last two days,” according to a media release by the police.
On Wednesday (January 17), a vehicle travelling northbound on Cariboo Road hit the 15-year-old female pedestrian, who was later declared dead on the scene.
The incident happened around 7:10 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The female fatality is believed to be an international student. She was not identified.
