An orange sheet now wraps around what used to be a Cloverdale Paint shop at the northeast corner of Station Street and Terminal Avenue.

The other business at the site, The Party Bazaar, is still operating, but likely not for long.

A proposal has been filed to develop the 41,427-square-foot Vancouver property at 1296 Station Street into an office tower.

It’s a transit-oriented development that will see a future 13-storey office building next to the Pacific Central Station, a hub for Canadian and international trains and buses.

To the west of the site, beside Thorton Park, is the Main Street-Science World Station of SkyTrain.

The proposed 285,346-square-foot office development is a joint venture between Pioneer Investments Ltd., a West Vancouver company that owns the property, and Rize Alliance, a development firm based in Vancouver.

The Party Bazaar, a major retailer of party supplies, has been doing business at 1296 Station Street for a number of years.

The party shop’s management did not grant an interview about the future of the bazaar.

The future office development located at the False Creek Flats will have retail on ground level.

Members of the public have until February 9 to comment on the development application by Rize Alliance (Station Commercial) Limited Partnership.
