Various parts of Metro Vancouver, including Burnaby, Surrey, and even downtown Vancouver, already experienced snow flurries today (January 25). But Environment Canada is stating that snow accumulation is possible on Friday evening (January 26).

A cool airmass is bringing a mixture of showers and flurries into Metro Vancouver.

Rain is expected to become steady on Friday evening, with some snow accumulation possible in higher terrains in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

Freezing rain may occur in the Fraser Valley, as temperatures there may remain below zero degrees Celsius.

By Saturday, winds are expected to move south, bringing in mild rainy conditions by Sunday.

According to the Weather Network, a significant amount of snow will accumulate on the North Shore mountains throughout Friday while wet snow is possible for the Fraser Valley and North Vancouver on Saturday afternoon.
