The headline on this news release from the North Vancouver RCMP uses the word "stranger".

But I've substituted the words "sick bastard" to describe whoever was responsible for entering an 89-year-old woman's Lynn Valley apartment, exposing himself, and then assaulting her.

According to the Mounties, the was dressed as a construction worker and wearing white disposable overalls when he knocked on the door and asked to use the washroom.

This occurred on Thursday (February 1) afternoon.

He's described as a male between 20 and 30 years old with a slim build, 5'10" to 6'0" in height, with black hair, dark eyes, olive skin, navy pants, and a navy sweater, which were underneath the white overalls.

"Given the serious nature of the crime, both the North Vancouver RCMP Serious Crime and Special Victim Units have put their resources into solving this investigation," RCMP Const. Brett Cunningham said in a news release. "Fortunately the victim was not seriously injured and remains in good spirits even after being victim to such a disturbing offence."

The drawing of the suspect that accompanies this article was created by an RCMP forensic artist.
