Vancouver police seek witnesses after man found seriously injured outside Astoria Hotel

      Police investigators are seeking witnesses to determine what happened to a man discovered seriously injured in the Downtown Eastside.

      Ambulance and police responded to call around 11:30 p.m. on February 6 about a man who was found unconscious near East Hastings Street and Hawks Avenue, in front of the Astoria Hotel.

      He was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

      The Vancouver Police Department stated that based on the information gathered thus far, the victim may have hit his head during an altercation that he appeared to be involved in.

      Police arrested and later released a 42-year-old Vancouver male suspect although the investigation is continuing.
