After all of the rumours, the negotiations, the questions of whether he was happy being a general manager and the links to B.C. native Ken Holland, the Vancouver Canucks have announced that the team will be bringing back GM Jim Benning

This is the fourth season for the Canucks under Benning, and fans and media alike were starting to wonder whether he would be back next season.

The team will hold a press conference today at 12 p.m. announcing his extension.

The news comes the same day as a letter sent out by president Trevor Linden to the team’s season ticket holders.

Some spoke out on Twitter against the deal.

The contract is rumoured to be three years long.
