After an initial call for witness or footage of a sexual assault on January 17, the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) have released a sketch of the male suspect today (February 15).

The female victim was crossing a playing field at John Maclure Elementary School, at 2990 Oriole Crescent in Abbotsford around 6 p.m. on January 17.

The male suspect approached her from behind. After he pushed her down, the victim freed herself and ran south across George Ferguson Way to a business where she received help.

The suspect is described as a white male who is 30 to 40 years old with a scruffy beard. He is about 5-feet 11-inches with a medium build, and he was wearing dark jeans with a zip-up hoodie with the words "Dry Fit" on the back.

Investigators believe that the suspect and victim did not know each other.

Anyone with information about the person in the sketch or the incident is asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225 or called Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
