Coquitlam RCMP announced today (February 20) that a Coquitlam piano teacher has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Dmytro (Dmitri) Kubyshkin is believed to have been teaching in private homes for over 20 years. He is facing allegations for incidents that occurred from 1998 to 2005. He is not previously known to police.

DM Piano School is the name of his current company.

Kubyshkin is described as a 67-year-old Caucasian male with white or blond hair, blue eyes, and a mustache. He is 5-feet 10-inches and 160 pounds (73 kilograms) with a medium build. He speaks with a Russian accent.

According to the DM Piano School website, Kubyshkin lived and performed in Kiev, Ukraine, and moved to Vancouver in 1997.

The RCMP is seeking to determine whether or not there are more victims who have not yet spoken with the police.

Investigators are asking anyone who has been (or who knows of someone who is) a victim of a crime involved Kubyshkin to call their non-emergency line at 604-945-1550 to speak with the Investigative Support Team (citing file 2018-1860).
