RCMP seek help identifying man who robbed Surrey taxi driver

      Surrey RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a man who robbed a taxi in Surrey.

      A taxi driver picked up a fare at 11:30 p.m. on February 1 in the 2200 block of 160th Street in south Surrey.

      The male suspect sat in the front seat of cab and, after only a brief drive, he asked the driver to pull over near 160th Street and 20th Avenue.

      After the taxi parked, the suspect threatened the driver with a knife and stole his money before he fled on foot. The driver remain unharmed.

      Unfortunately, police were unable to locate the suspect.

      Today (February 23) Surrey RCMP released images from surveillance footage of the suspect.

      He is a white male who is 5-feet 8-inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black jacket, black cap, and black-rimmed glasses.
