Hockey community mourns the loss of junior players in Saskatchewan
In one of the more heartbreaking stories of the year thus far, a crash involving a bus carrying members of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Humboldt Broncos has claimed fatalities.
At least 14 of the 29 people on the bus have passed away, while three more are in critical condition, according to numerous reports.
The hockey community has been giving its support to the town of just under 5,000 (according to the 2016 census) in waves.
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, who grew up an hour drive away from Humboldt in Saskatoon, had a tough time reacting to the crash.
