I can only imagine how many phone calls, emails, and tweets have been directed at CTV Vancouver after it dropped two popular news anchors.

Last night, one of them—Tamara Taggart—tweeted that she's been overwhelmed by the kindness that she's received from viewers.

"I'm in a puddle of tears," she admitted.

Today, her co-anchor, veteran newsman Mike Killeen, broke his silence on Instagram.

He described the public support that he's received as "nothing short of extraordinary".

"Thanks so much for your kind calls, texts, tweets and messages," Killeen wrote. "I've read them all. Not out loud. And without a TelePrompTer."

CTV Vancouver is owned by Bell Media, which is a division of Montreal-based BCE Inc.

In Vancouver, the corporation also owns TSN Radio 1040 AM, TSN Radio 1410 AM, Virgin Radio 94.5 FM, and QM/FM 103.5.
