The spot at the corner of Knight Street and Clark Drive has been part of the Cedar Cottage neighbourhood for a long time.

It’s a popular hub in the East Vancouver community, where visitors can grab a bite, enjoy a drink, relish a cup of coffee, or pick up liquor.

Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood Pub, Coffee House, and Liquor Store also offers space for social functions and fundraisers.

There’s a pocket plaza at the street corner, adding to the welcoming feel of the entire place.

A rezoning application has been filed for the 1303 Kingsway and 3728 Clark Drive location of the single-storey landmark.

The City of Vancouver lists the contact for the applicant as Tobias Slezak of Aquilini Development.

The site is a block west of Knight Street, where an Aquilini project, the King Edward Village, was built years ago.

The rezoning application for the location of Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood Pub, Coffee House, and Liquor Store proposes a six-storey mixed-use building.

According to the application, there will be commercial spaces on ground level, and the upper floors will have 53 market rental units.

A community open house will be held on May 8, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Church of Nazarene (998 East 19th Avenue).
