The public still can't breathe a sigh of relief after several sexual assaults in the Newton area of Surrey.

That's because man who was taken into custody has since been released.

      The RCMP investigation continues.

The Mounties disclosed this information today without revealing the suspect's name.

He was arrested on May 27 in connection with four recent incidents, including an early-morning reported assault in the 14800 block of 73 Avenue.

A 17-year-old female said she was attacked by a man from behind, but managed to flee the scene.

The RCMP said the man who was arrested was driving a grey Honda Accord.

A week ago, the Mounties announced that they were seeking a sexual-assault suspect who drove a grey-brown Honda Accord in connection with other sexual assaults in the Newton area.

The Mounties included this photo of a suspect's Honda Accord in a May news release about sexual assaults in Surrey.
