The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is alerting residents of several acts of indecency that were reported to have taken place in Mount Pleasant.

All incidents took place between midnight and 1 a.m. either on Main Street near East 15th Avenue or about one block away on Quebec Street.

A male suspect has been approaching ground-floor residential or business windows in which a woman is inside the building. He has illuminated himself with either a flashlight or cellphone as he exposed himself and committed indecent acts. After being seen, he has fled on foot.

The first incident occurred after 1 a.m. on May 19 near Main Street and East 15th Avenue.

Two hours after this incident, a male of a similar description was seen facing a ground-floor window near Knight Street and Kingsway as he was committing an indecent act. Although in this case he did not illuminate himself and it took place outside of Mount Pleasant, investigators believe this may be related.

On June 18, two incidents were reported, with one shortly after midnight at Quebec Street and East 15th Avenue and the second occurring 25 minutes later near Main Street and East 15th Avenue.

The most recent incident occurred in July 15 after midnight near Quebec and East 15th Avenue.

Police believe the suspect may live in the Mount Pleasant area.

He is described as a white male in his 30s, who is five-feet, eight-inches tall, with a medium to heavy build and light-coloured hair on his legs.

He has been seen wearing either a hat or hoodie, pants or shorts, and a jacket or sweatshirt.

As police believe there may be other incidents that haven't been reported yet, anyone with information is asked to call the VPD tip line at 604-717-0604 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

These incidents occurred just after Burnaby RCMP arrested a 38-year-old man from Port Coquitlam who had been exposing himself to individuals in Confederation Park and the Burnaby Lake area.

The arrest happened to occur on the same day that Burnaby RCMP arrested a 48-year-old Langley man, who will face charges of voyeurism and assault, at BCIT for allegedly using a cellphone to take pictures of a woman using a washroom.
