One of the region's larger parks was swarming with police officers last night as they searched for two suspects involved in a violent crime.

Around 8:30 p.m. a man was stabbed near Patterson Station. According to an RCMP news release, he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Mounties combed nearby Central Park looking for a First Nations male and a Caucasian male. Both have been described as being between 40 and 45 years old.

The RCMP says there is no risk to the public.

It's the same park where the body of 13-year-old murder victim Marrisa Shen was found just over a year ago.

More recently, on July 15, an elderly man was assaulted on a path not far from the park.
