Man dies after road-rage shooting in East Vancouver

      An early-morning traffic dispute in Vancouver appears to have escalated into a shooting that has resulted in one woman being injured and left one man dead.

      Shortly after 1:30 a.m. today (August 10), the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) received a call about a man shot near Bridgeway Street under the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge in East Vancouver.

      When officers arrived, they discovered a 33-year-old man who had died from gunshot wounds. The identity of the victim has not been released, as the next of kin hasn't been notified yet.

      Meanwhile, a woman, who was believed to be in the same vehicle as the male victim, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and has since been released.

      According to a VPD news release, evidence is indicating that a road-rage incident arose between the victim, who was believed to be in a grey Toyota Matrix, and the suspect, who was in a white sedan.

      The investigation is continuing on but no arrests have been made yet.
