Vancouver police continue to investigate an early Friday (August 10) morning shooting death of a motorist on Bridgeway Street under the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge.

Today, the victim has been identified as 33-year-old Willis Charles Hunt.

A 32-year-old woman in his Toyota Matrix suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is believed to have been driving a white sedan.

Police believe it was a case of road rage.

“It is still very early in this investigation and our detectives are working to confirm the circumstances that led to this man’s death,” VPD Const. Jason Doucette said in a news release. “We are reminding anyone who may find themselves involved in a road rage incident to remain calm, not to engage the occupants of the other vehicle, and to call 9-1-1 if you feel your safety could be at risk.”

Detectives are hoping to find dash-cam video from anyone who was in the area of Renfrew and McGill streets between 1:30 and 2 a.m. on Friday.
