Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in determining what happened to a Fraser Valley woman who disappeared and was later found dead in a river.

After human remains were located in the Fraser River on July 25, RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service identified the remains as 23-year-old Chilliwack resident Laura Clark.

Clark had been reported to police as missing on August 3.

She had been last seen walking in the evening near the Agassiz Bridge on July 15.

Investigators are seeking to retrace what led to Clark's disappearance and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen her from July 15 to 25.

She is described as 173 centimetres (five feet, eight inches) tall and about 64 kilograms (141 pounds), with blue eyes, blond hair (usually tied in a ponytail), and a slender build.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a bright pink shirt and black shorts.

Anyone who has information about her is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
