While several police agencies have been involved in a crackdown on gangs in the Lower Mainland, Abbotsford police are also searching for a man involved with gang conflict who is deemed a risk to the public.

On August 14, the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) announced that they are searching for 19-year-old Varinderpal Singh Gill, who also goes by "VP".

In a news release, the APD stated that "he poses a serious risk to other gang members in the conflict" and "at risk of violence by other gang members". The APD added that his presence in public is a risk for public safety due to the potential for gang shootings.

He is described as having a slim build, is 1.9 metres (six-feet, 2-inches) tall and weighs 75 kilograms (165 pounds).

Anyone who sees Gill in public is asked to call 911.

Anyone with information about Gill can call 604-859-5225 or text 222973 (ABBYPD). Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
