RCMP arrest Maple Ridge suspects after home invasion in Port Coquitlam

      Police have made several arrests in Maple Ridge in relation to a home invasion took place in Port Coquitlam.

      After 1:30 p.m. on August 16, Coquitlam RCMP responded a 911 call about a home invasion at the 4000 block of Liverpool Street.

      Two people were at home at the time. One of the victims received treatment for a minor injury.

      After investigators traced several suspects to a house in the 10300 block of Slatford Place in Maple Ridge, police made arrests and secured the residence for further investigation.

      Cpl. Michael McLaughlin told the Georgia Straight that seven individuals were arrested and are in custody at the moment. However, he added that the number of individuals who entered the house cannot be disclosed due to the ongoing investigation.

      Also, as no formal charges have been laid yet, names are not being released.

      Coquitlam and Maple Ridge RCMP are working together to ensure public safety.
